Before jumping straight into a bodybuilding regime, including supplements, training and nutrition, half the work will be done when you know what body type you are.

Knowing your body type will help you in optimizing your goal, cleaning your diet and choosing the right style of exercises to adopt.

In the 1940's William H. Sheldon introduced his theory of Somotypes. His basic theory proposed that there are basically three body types and each body type has a specific personality associated with it.

The body type system that Sheldon introduced characterized the human body as mesomorphic, endomorphic or ectomorphic.

Although there are three distinct body types, no one person is completely one body type, but we all have a body type that is predominant.
